We love to show off our planes and to help others come into the sport.  There is lots to learn and ample amount of people who would love to share their skills and craft with you.

What do you need?

Simple answer is nothing (except yourself).  To make it easier its probably best to bring a hat and some sun glasses as you can find yourself standing in the sun while flying the plane.

What we do for you

As a visitor to our club you are permitted, under MAAA rules, to visit our club four times and during that time you will have the opportunity to fly a plane. We will provide the plane, transmitter, receiver and a professional instructor to demonstrate flying a model aircraft as well as give you the controls once we get it up in the air so you can try it and see what its like.  We can then help you with your choice of model, the setup and teach you how to fly it.  Once you have a good feel for model flight then you can proceed to get your Bronze wings, Silver Wings and then your Gold Wings (our youngest member is just 8 years old and flies some of the largest planes there are !)

What would be the stages of development I would go through to become a pilot?

Our New Member Pathway document details both yours and RAMS involvement at each stage of your evolution as a pilot.

RAMS Member Pathway

As an example, Stage 4 details what is expected of you to become a solo flyer but also what is expected of our club to help you to become a solo flyer.
