Purpose: To commemorate ANZAC Day by flying and displaying warbirds and other classic aircraft.. A gold coin donation will be collected from all pilots with proceeds donated to legacy. (War widows)
Competition: A friendly competition will be held on the day by a pilots ballot choice of the best warbird or classic plane of the day

Location
TARMAC Club has a flying field located at 13292 New England Highway, Hodgson Vale, Queensland, 4352. This is approximately 14 km south of Toowoomba on the North side of the New England Highway. Toowoomba is located 125 km due west of Brisbane. The facilities include a clubhouse with male and female toilets and a limited solar photovoltaic power supply which is used for clubhouse lighting and to power a battery charging station and a drinks refrigerator and Bore Water supply. The battery charging station has a 12 volt bus and one 240 volt power point is provided. We have an east west main flying strip and a shorter North South cross strip. There is a shaded pit area.
Camping Facilities
An open area is available to the north side of the carpark suitable for ~ 6 winnebagos and caravans. If you wish to camp overnight then please contact the TARMAC Club secretary beforehand.
There is no electrical power available to the camping sites.
There is no drinking water available however bore water is available for washing.
In the clubhouse a gas cylinder operated barbeque and a washup sink is available for use but no food is provided by the TARMAC Club.
Tea and Coffee is available free of charge and soft drink is available at $2 a can donation to the club
Safety Warnings
- No flying is allowed over the roadway and especially no flying is allowed over the Mill Property to the South East Corner
- A 20 km/hr maximum speed limit applies for all vehicles
- Warning Brown Snakes are in the area – please be careful when retrieving downed models
- Dogs and other pets are not allowed unless they are on the lead and under control at all times
- The Pit area and the area to the south of the pit area is restricted to pilots and to those directly assisting pilots to set up or disassemble models. The general public is not permitted in the pit area nor on the flying field nor in the flying box
- All pilots are to fly take off and landings from the flying box only after conferring with other pilots already airborne or in the process of doing so. Circuits are to be according to convention displayed. If you wish to fly stunt or 3D then only do so after prior agreement with other pilots.
- A RED Flag system is used for models on their first flight or after rebuilding. Once the RED flag is displayed those flying are to complete their flights in the usual manner but no additional aircraft are to take off until the test flight has been completed. The RED Flag is not for taxi runs only for test flights.
- Start up tables and ground concrete pads with stakes are available to the south side of the pits.
- Planes are not to be armed in the Pit Area. That is no powered rotating blades are allowed in the pit area. No running of internal combustion engines in the pits. No running of electric propellors in the pits – this includes plane, drones and helicopters and all aircraft.
- We are a friendly club. Please be courteous and communicative at all times, especially with other pilots when you wish to fly.
- A first aid kit and defibrillator are available at the clubhouse

Only those with MAA Bronze wings or higher who are financial members of a MAAA affiliated club are allowed to fly unsupervised. Supervised flights are as per MAAA, MAAQ and Club Rules by prior arrangement with TARMAC flying instructors.
