There is no doubt about it, the feedback is in… a good time was had by all.
We were lucky the weather was perfect, temperature was great and the organisers of the RAMS Christmas Party certainly had their fingers on the pulse and delivered an amazing event.
I will leave most of the descriptions to John Tranter for the next edition of The Coronoa Chronicles as he can articulate it a lot better than myself but it was a great day with the financial outcome being a $211 profit.
We kicked off the day with a speech from President Phil Smith then moved on to the awards presentations and then the Auction. All this time
I had several people say to me how great it was to see everyone pitching in to make this day a success. I brought about a great sense of community. A special mention has to go to the RAMS Christmas Sub Committee (John Tranter and Haze Porteous) who brought with them both skill, drive and clarity to make this event a great success.
Haze even put together a long running (and quite often very funny) video running on the data projector that contained a lot of footage of aircraft from movies but also snippets of video taken by our own avid flyers interspersed with some hilarious cartoons – Thank you Haze, your efforts.
The Food… oh wow, the food. Of course if you ask the guys the success of the food is the way in which you cook it… (wink, wink) but so much has to be said for the meal from the meats, to the salad selection right down to the deserts. At every corner there was mouth watering options at every turn. A truly sensational culinary delight!
It was such a success that the Christmas Committee and myself have put together a RAMS XMAS Party Model document that captured the days events so that future committees will have a more accurate model to re-create what was a successful day.
The day went on to hold an auction of an amazing array of donated planes and equipment from members past and present with $535 raised – Thank you to everyone who donated and also those who bid!
Deb Shinners was helping capture the day, along with some Cecil B. Demille wannabe’s like myself, and are delighted to share some images captured on the day…
