Today, several RAMS members got together on a jaunt to Beechmont with the anticipation of some nice sloap soaring.  Not only was the drive absolutely beautiful but the day turned out amazing.  Unfortunately the wind didn’t eventuate into anything that allowed non-powered aircraft to maintain flight but that day was fantastic and watching the Paragliders from the Canungra Hang Gliding Club was a thrill.  At one stage there were more than 20 paragliders in the air at the same time.

Where is Beechmont I hear you say?

It’s located at Rosins Lookout which is about 1hr 20 minutes from the RAMS Club house.   The last 20 minutes of the drive is on a slow windy road that keeps going up into the clouds.  There are toilets there as well as a fancy little cafe with sit down meals and great service.

Beechmont Photos

We took a some photos of the day including one of RAMS member Rodney doing the walk of shame after borrowing Cal’s flying wing and burying deep in the undergrowth at the bottom of the hill !  (Click on the arrows to see all the photos)
